Child Rights
MHVF takes a two-fold approach to promoting children’s rights.
We work with parents, local professionals, and community actors to increase knowledge of what constitutes child abuse and mobilize whole communities around its prevention.
We also work in schools and with children’s groups to educate young people about child protection and how to actualise their rights.
Gender Equity
MHVF facilitates gender equity workshops in remote and rural communities.
We work with community leaders and local authorities to sensitise them to the issue of violence against women and create a greater understanding of the need to challenge inequity within their communities.
This program aims to counter the normalization of violence and enhance communities’ capacity to take ownership over the prevention of violence, rather than relegating it to the domestic sphere.
Male Engagement
We work with men and boys to promote healthly understandings of masculinty.
This program is designed to equip men with the tools and knowledge to reflect upon their behaviours, acknowledge their responsibilities, and implement sustained, positive change within their communities by becoming advocates for gender equity.
